Innovation is the name of the game in Quick Service Restaurants – offering a new taste in addition to the main menu brings customers through the door more frequently.

Subway has a regular program of taste innovation with new limited-time only sandwiches, but it’s latest big permanent innovation was the introduction of toasted sandwiches in 2004 – requiring the installation of toasting ovens across its 20,000 restaurants in North America.

Subway has now launched Paninis in Canada with a solid in-store presence and a direct mail program with high value coupons including an offer for a free sandwich with any drink purchase.

Subway is investing to up its game in the battle for lunch time dollars!
